Dr. Timothy F. Murray, Technical Team Consultant

The Coherent/II-VI Foundation is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Tim Murray to our Technical Team.

Mr. Murray is the principal consultant and owner of Murray Advisory Services, LLC[ MAS] advising C-level clients and investors on strategy and business development.

Prior to establishing MAS, Murray was CEO and Chairman of OFS Fitel LLC a wholly owned subsidiary of Furukawa Electric [FEC] from 2008-2019. Mr. Murray was also a corporate officer of Furukawa as a senior corporate vice president and leader of the global optical fiber and cable business of FEC, recently rebranded as Lightera.

OFS is a leading optical fiber manufacturer with a history of innovation based in its origins in Bell Laboratories. OFS was spun out of Lucent Technologies in 2001 and sold to a joint venture of FEC and CommScope. OFS technology enabled FEC to develop its own fiber laser materials processing equipment business and has broad uses in medical, geophysical sensing and aerospace markets.

Mr. Murray had a range of marketing, sales, business development and R&D management positions at ATMI; AMP; ICI PLC; and E.I. Du Pont de Nemours Inc. He has managed the development, launch and growth of businesses in the electronic materials, advanced electronic manufacturing services and medical equipment markets.

Mr. Murray has a B.S. in Chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Ph. D. in Organometallic Chemistry from Princeton University.
